R. Amarendran
Film & Theater Actor, Director & AuthorR Amarendran is an Indian theatre director & actor who has directed and acted in several plays in English and French. Amarendran's love for acting started in the 1980s during his college days. He was part of Girish Karnad's play Tughlaq which soon led him to get minor roles in Mithran Devanesan's Gilbert and Sullivan musicals. He later acted in English plays for several theatre groups in Chennai. In 1989 he was one the four Indians to be selected by the French government to go the L'ecole Nationale d'art Dramatique at the Theatre National de Strasbourg in France to train in acting and to act in a French play that was staged in Delhi, Calcutta and Strasbourg. On his return from France he decided to direct plays himself and in 1992 he founded the Theatre Arlequin. He staged more than 25 plays in English and French the most notable of which were Tartuffe by Moliere, The Lesson by Eugene Ionesco, The Maids by Jean Genet and Tony Kushner's adaptation of Pierre Corneille's L'Illusion Comique. His film career started in 2008 when he landed the main villain’s role in the movie Bale Pandya directed by Siddharth Chandrasekhar featuring Vishnu Vishal as the protagonist. He has acted in a major role in the critically acclaimed Vidiyum Munn which was inspired by the British film "London to Brighton". He later played the role of a history teacher in the multi-Oscar winner Hollywood film "Life of Pi". Amarendran has acted in many Tamil films like Jil Jung Juk, Vidiyum Munn, Vikram Vedha and Kabali. Amarendran has conducted numerous acting workshops for aspiring actors across India and has a strong penchant for teaching.

John has penned the Script for more than 30 feature films in Tamil and Malayalam. John became interested in Script writing early in his accounting career and started working on script writing. His noted works include Kamal Hassan starer Malayalam film Chanakyan, Guna and Kuruthipunal. His other noted films include Vyooham(1990), Gandhari (1993), Soorya Manasam(1992), Highway (1995 film), Sillunu Oru Kadhal (2006), Mayilpeelikkavu(1998) and Priyam(1999). He has framed Screen writing course curriculum for various universities in India and has trained many aspiring screen writers in India and abroad. John E has also worked as a Director and Producer for numerous Ad films and documentaries.

As a Cinematographer Santhosh has assisted National Award winning Cinematographer Chezhian in many films like Paradesi, Thaarai Thappatai,Joker, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru to name a few. He is recognized for the protagonist role he played in the film To Let. To Let has won more than 62 awards in various film festivals across the world including the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil at the 65th National Film Awards.

His first film Gubeer which was a limited release received a positive critical response, with particular praise for its novel structure and narrative. Director Karthik Subburaj of Petta praised the movie as an experimental film which is gutsy, bold & filled with fun. Thilip produced his second film through crowd funding and waiting for the release of Gubeer Part 2.

CinematographerVijay worked as a photo journalist for the Vikatan Group before working as a cinematographer. He assisted the camera teams of some of the commercially successful films including Bommalattam, Chera's Autograph, Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Ajith's Varalaru. He subsequently worked as an independent cinematographer in ad films, working for over fifty brands, and then worked on assignments for documentaries for BBC about PT Usha. In 2009, he got his first big break as a cinematographer for Rajesh Lingam’s Pugaippadam, after which he worked on Maathi Yosi. He subsequently worked on Ondipuli and Nagaram. He used practical lights instead of the traditional film set lighting in the web series Nila Nila Odi Vaa. Vijay enjoys teaching and has conducted numerous workshops on Cinematography.
